Scarlett Johansson, American actress (born on the 22nd of November 1985 in New York City New York) is well-known for her ability to act across different various genres from period dramas to thrillers to action-packed films. Johansson was the child of a filmmaker and an architect. The family is from New York City. She was the twin sister of Hunter and she were the youngest siblings. In her early years she was able to begin performing. Actually, at seven she was already auditioning for several commercials. To improve her acting skills, she joined classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan as well as she attended the Professional Children's School. In the age of eight, she starred alongside Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry, and at nine she made her film debut in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson was later seen in Just Cause (1995), however, her breakthrough came with Manny & Lo a coming of age movie about two sisters running away. For The Horse Whisperer, Johansson was a teenager who suffered a horrific accident. In Ghost World, her role Ghost World brought her more recognition as the troubled teenager Rebecca.
